Watch A Movie, Ride A Bike..

Thanks to Diese (pronounce: D-C) who helped to organize a movie outing with her sisters and AaronWooLaLa, last night, to watch the infamous Sherlock Holmes! (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows).

I just did, and I gave them a =) because of their pricing, service and upkeep of the cinema!
Not to mention, it's a pretty convenient place to reach, and there's ample parking each time I go there!

The movie was brilliant and epic! Unexpected scenes throughout the entire show! I think it's one of the best around =D Definitely, no spoilers here, but I can say this, BE PREPARED TO LAUGH FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE END! (Seriously, if you don't have to laugh even one bit, something's wrong with you!)

My rating for this AWESOME movie is 9/10.

As compared to the earlier sequel, this removes the element of thinking, but placed more action and exhilarating scenes instead. Some parts were overly used, but you wouldn't notice that unless you pay attention to details rather than the overall of the show. I would say it is a MUST-WATCH movie.. and will be great to have a copy at home!




After the movie, we went to check out Aaron's big-bad-ass bike! The largest  250cc Kawasaki bike there is available in the market. Sounds great, feels great, you'd be great to own it! =P So what do you do when you have a camera on hand and a nice ride in front of you? Duh, camwhore la!

True that, this bike knocks up speed faster than a car.
Quicker & Swifter too, with Style! hahaha..

The Real Steel! review

A big thanks to Nuffnang and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Malaysia for the chance of being part of Premiere Screening of Real Steel. It is certainly one of the best action movie I've seen in a long time, and I'll let you know why just in a bit =) Before that, I just wanna share what my answer was for the question posted by Nuffnang:

Question: How you would build your own fighter robot?

Simple! A shape-shifting robot, with state of the art technology and abilities... flexible adamantium build, with nano-suit abilities that allows restructuring of any part quick and without problem.. You don't need a chainsaw if you have the awesome hybrid martial arts (JiuJitsu, Kickboxing, Aikido, etc) programmed into it... Virtually undefeatable, #1 in the ring, #1 in your hearts (for the fans; gotta love the crowd right?), #1 in the world, the 1 and only, The Real Steel! =) Let's not forget its great sponsor and partner, Nuffnang *grins*.

Hehehe, that was how I scored a pair of invitations to the screening. Alright enough about that. So let's move onto the review of the show. The movie Real Steel, is no doubt an awesome show, and I bet those who had watched me with me would say so too.

Some super awesome technology was shown - Transparent and Flexible OLED screen panels for phones and computers! I think they are concept phones and computers on screen for marketing/promoting purposes, by Nokia and HP as I saw them repeatedly shown in obvious manners. Boy will Nokia and HP be a big talk once they go on screen officially to the public! The future technology displayed throughout the movie was rather realistic (we'll prepare ourselves for lots of robot-action sports?)

The storyline is touching - I can still clearly remember the heartfelt sentence between a father and a son "I've tried my best, what do you want me to do?", then "I just want you to fight for me, that's all that I ever wanted". From distanced strangers to close bonding, it's simply the perfect storyline!


This is a movie that can be watched by anyone. I would say it's a family movie, because it shows the value of appreciation, family bonds and teamwork! An important aspect was brought to the screen, in that the power of recognizing opportunities that will potentially change everything and the power of will to see it through. It proves that size does not matter, it's the heart that counts. One may have the best technology, best program, best experts to operate it, but if it does not have the heart for it, it's just another thing that comes along and goes away eventually.

Also, the movie exhibits that humans in the future are more civilized - though they want more action, but they are aware of the consequences of directly involving human in the process, hence replaced it with disposable or expandable technology - Get the humans out and let the robots do the fighting!

For the characters, I like the kid (Dakota Goyo aka Max Kenton) who starred in the show, his emotions were genuine and I gotta admit it, he was the key person who made the show pretty touching. Also you gotta love his eyes! (Watch the movie and you'll know! *grins*) Also, not to forget both Hugh Jackman (Charlie Kenton) and Evangeline Lilly (Bailey Tallet) who were both SEXY and HOT, yet expressing a great deal of affection - Not many people are able to show genuine love and gratefulness.

So how do I rate this movie? I guess from all the points above, I could sum into a figure of:

9.5 out of 10

What happened to the balance of 0.5? Well, let's just say, when you pay attention to the details. Heavy object should have a heavy impact on the ground, unless it's rubber, but in the case of metal, well I didn't quite see that. Also, there's a certain truth that was not reveal, in regards to Max Kenton's ability to interact with robots (or perhaps that's part of the mystery that should be adding value to the movie). Last but not least, in case if others didn't notice this (can't blame anyone, the overall was great, and many would close one eye on this) the continuous battle of robots, though show great damage impact throughout the fight, but have seemed to "restored" back to an earlier condition once it had ended. The dent that was created, seem to have gone away. But all these were minor stuffs, hence only the 0.5. When giving a review, one should be fair =)


I wouldn't mind watching this movie for the second time! (Well, but in fact I did! How? That's for me to know, and for you to find out *winks*)

Fright Night! review

Just got back from a movie premier screen by Nuffnang with thanks to Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Malaysia. We were watching Fright Night, a Disney flick which tales a vampire, by the name of Jerry, living in the neighborhood where Charley Brewster (the main character) lives in. This movie is a mix of comedy and horror - weird combination, no? But I must admit the jokes were rather hilarious and got many members of the audience laughing to it.

I would not want to elaborate further on the movie, but would like to highlight some points as part of the review:

• Was not much of a horror, rather more of suspense, but I do like the sound effects, makes your heart throb a little here and there.
• The puns were hilarious and it made many members of the audience laugh.
• The storyline was not that all interesting, but some of the actions were alright.
• Character-wise, well they were alright too, but I think Colin Farrell did pretty well seeing there was all that was given to him. Anton Yelchin was average at the beginning, but his character picked up towards the end *thumbs up*
• In terms of special effects, it was not that all impressive but it did fair well in its part of the show, except for the oozy blood that was really fake (I guess being part of a Disney movie, they can't have too much blood?)

 I would rate it as 7/10.
 An okay movie to watch, but it's not a movie you cannot miss.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Screening!

Wootza! I watched the Prince of Persia (PoPTSoT) and it was awesome! Thanks to Nuffnang and Mister Potato (product of Mamee-Double Decker) for the invitation to the screenings!

Alright that's that, back to the review eh, shall we?

What Is It About?:

An epic adventure kick started by a rogue prince who is reluctantly joins forces with princes from the mystical lands. Together they fought against the prince's uncle who secretly leads a dark force in hopes of obtaining an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time (which is believe to be the gift fro the gods once a upon a time, a dagger that can reverse time).

Rogue prince not of the royal family, but was brought into the noble family. Later part of the movie, he was suspected of killing his father, the King of Persia and was head hunted by many. That is where the journey to uncover the truth begins~

What's Good?

Other than the special effects, computer graphics, and storyline, I consider it as one of the best computer games adaptation. The characters were very much a like the ones in the game, in terms of appearances (not exact but an acceptable similarity)

What's Bad?

Well practically if you know the game or the show itself, you would know how this would be like. After all, it is an adaptation. Besides that, was the uninspired romance which is completely obvious and unrealistic. There wasn't anything surprising, even the separation of PoP's body when he used the Dagger of Time. Almost everything was anticipated for.

Avatar: Review

I know it's been released for sometime now, and many would have watched it by now. Today I finally managed to catch the movie with Debra (Yesh! We're no longer losers-who-haven't-watch-it) Err.. if you haven't watched it... You're not a loser... You're just losing out on something great *winks*

What Is It About?

It's about life on Pandora (fictional planet, like duh~), an alien world where humans and Na'vi (a blue-skinned evolved-human or known as sapient humanoids) living together. However, the humans had the intention of retrieving the mineral, Unobtanium and their initial methods were to utilize a remotedly-controlled biological body called the Avatar, that resembles that of a Na'vi. Jake Sully (main character) who was a former marine (handicapped as confined to wheelchair) when operating the Avatar was able to enter the Na'vi world and learnt their ways of living. Gradually the humans wanted all the minerals and decided to pull a war towards the Na'vi, and Jake Sully rises as a hero taking side with the Na'vi to protect the sacred world.

What's Good?

Definitely the animation! You'll find this rocking your world! Not forgetting the special effects as well.
Storyline, it maybe long, but it's good.
Heartfelt, if you're into stories (like me) and you'd followed every second of the movie, you'll feel different feelings each time - from happy, to sad, to excited, to overwhelmed
Morale of the story, there's always a lesson to learn. This movie, it's clear and you get the meaning.

What's Bad?

It's a little long, but I guess for this kinda movie, it's worth it.
You gotta pay attention to it, lose a moment, you might lose something there.

Sherlock Holme's Premiere Screening

Gonna do a quick one on this. Got the invitation to the screening thanks to Alex and Nuffnang. So what's my take on it?

What's it about?

This movie is actually adoption of a fictional character, Sherlock Holmes who's a detective on the go of solving cases, except that this Sherlock Holmes was no ordinary detective. This movie portrays a genius-being of a detective eager and yearning to solve mystery (as no mystery cannot be unsolved). However Sherlock Holmes as impressive as he sounds, is lethal with his fighting skills combined with his legendary intellect. Together Holmes and Watson (his trusty stalwart partner, also an impressive doctor) fight against a new nemesis and a deadly plot to bring down the country.


The Good?

Awesome storyline, with good mixture of action and comedy.
Love the plot of the story, how it builds up to the climax.
The logic makes you think a lot.
Gets everyone's attention with the movie and dialogue style.
Love the humor. If you think it's partially funny, you're wrong, it's hilarious throughout the whole show!


The Bad?

You really need good sound system to hear them clearly, cause they speak too fast (or we can't catch up with their speech speed)
If you're slow, you'll need to go through the movie again to catch the meaning.
You need to understand their slang to catch some of their words (or you can rely on the subtitles)

Ratings?

9/10

Why 9, even if it's so good?
Cause I didn't get to see the real nemesis..
Leaving me wondering who it is...

A recommended movie to watch!

Michael Jackson - This is it!

Just got back from one heck of a show - the MJ's last show/shot, THIS IS IT! Yes people, THAT WAS DEFINITELY IT! Never have I seen such great moments put together, nor have I felt the strong feelings and passion coming from someone, who didn't even knew it was an unofficial filming of his final performance... This I would like to thank Nigel n Sony Pictures for the invitation.

I've shown it before, and I'm showing it again...
Those colors had their reasons, because the show itself was meaningful...

Michael gave his very best effort into putting a great show. He spent hours and hours choreographing and rehearsing every single part - from dancing & singing to how the lighting, sound and special effects should be. He is truly passionate on what he set his mind to doing. I felt that strong enthusiasm from him.

For the first time in my life...
After the show ended,
I've saw an entire movie hall of audience who sat so still
watching the credits playing on screen...
Some stayed till after the credits! Wicked!

Not only that,
during the show, my legs were practically
dancing themselves, as if his music guided them to the beats...

I saw people applauded to the show...
Going "Wooohoooo... AWESOME THING!!"


Honestly, there's no regrets in buying This Is It
on CDs or DVDs...
You'll love it! =)

For that I strongly believe, Michael, you will always be in our hearts, for everytime your song is played, your spirit and passion surrounds us. I may not be a huge fan of yours, but I'm glad you were around even though it wasn't that all blissful to you. You changed many lives around, and given many hopes to people and motivate them with burning drive. Thanks. *smiles*

Time Out, Luck Out, WHITE OUT!

Yesterday, I had another spontaneous outing... Received a last minute (or more specifically 2 hours in advance) invitation for a movie screening of White Out at 9PM Cineleisure, say roughly around 7PM. Without much time to think whether or not to go, I said yes in just 10 minutes. Quick shower, changed, and scooted off to Cineleisure.

So I reached there, close to 8pm, adding up the traffic jam time and all, it was about there. I skipped dinner at home, for it too... *sigh* So....

Went around looking for food..
Buuuutttt....
Sushi King was too packed, because of the promotional hour...


Wanted to eat the Swiss meatballs at Ikea..
Dang, they were closed for an annual dinner...
Gosh, I rushed all the way there for nuts.. (=.=")


Alas, I had no choice but to resort back to McD's...
Like I always say, "If all plans for dinner fails, there's always McD's"

And so, I made my order.
Only to find out that.....

Alright, so here's the random facts:

Did you know that Sprite contains more energy/kCalory
than coke, by a value of 3-5?
(depending on the quantity - small, regular, large)

Did you know that consuming small fries is equivalent, if not
almost the same as drinking 1 large Sprite?

Wootza... Order more coke, lesser calories weih... =P
And can still fill up the stomach... LOL


Upon reading the information, a kind stranger came up to me, asking me a question:
"Would you like to watch a movie, called Whiteout?"
I was like huh? I'm gonna watch it later, but I didn't tell her..
Instead I said, "Sure! Thanks!"

Instantly I messaged Alex, and he brought along Xiang...
(oh I had another extra ticket with me, so that makes 2)

What about the movie?

I'd say the movie was alright, good effects...
Was a lil' eeky and gross, but good...
Though, I must say, even though you miss out on this movie,
it's nothing much, you don't lose out any excitement...

Ugly Truth Screenings by Sony Pictures Malaysia

Last Tuesday, was given the opportunity for a premier screening of the Ugly Truth. All thanks to Sony Pictures Malaysia, Kellster, and Joshuaongys for the tickets. Was given a pair of invitations, so I invited my pet-sis along. The movie was SUPERBLY AWESOME, I tell ya. It's an unexpected yet exceeding anyone's expectation of a movie. Alright, without further ado, I shall allow the pictures to tell ya what's going on back Tuesday

Movie Review: Final Destination

Rest in pieces

Summary:
On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare, Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori (Shantel VanSanten), and their friends, Janet (Haley Webb) and Hunt (Nick Zano), to leave…escaping seconds before Nick’s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality

Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one—in increasingly gruesome ways—Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination

The Good:

• Effects were good. Things seemed very real, if it was 3D, I bet the audience would be blasted away.
• Suspense was great. If you follow the movie well, you'll be shocked many times, into thinking that something wrong is going to happen.
• Memorable as to it makes you think of it over and over again, since the common things shown can easily turn into killer items.
• There was humor in it. Not too awkward, blended in quite well.
  

The Bad:

• Storyline was bad. Even compared to the previous ones, this was not as strong as the others.
• Movie was rather short and it seemed quick - somewhat they ran out of time, and had to kill everyone in the end, at once! The movie was also less than an hour and 30 minutes, to be specific, it was an hour plus a few minutes.
• Spoilt ending, just when they exceeded and raised the audience 's expectation from the beginning to the middle, they dropped us right into a pothole at the end.
• Final Destination's all about gruesome and gory scenes. That's pretty much what you'll only get minus off the humor.
• Watch it in the day, and it's nothing at all.
  

My Rating:
5.0 of 10.0
for a horror/thriller/suspense movie

Conclusion:

If you have the extra change and want a change in your appetite, this movie would be great for you. Also great to any Final Destination fans out there. Otherwise, I suggest you watch another movie for entertainment. A word of advice, if you're gonna watch this, watch the 3D - works like a charm! *winks*

Final Destination Screening N' Yam Cha!

Alright it's time, for me to write in as well. Before continuing further, I would like to firstly say, that the following pictures will be credited according to their watermarks, none of the pictures were mine. I'm only referencing them. =P The movie's last night, where a bunch of us friends were there for the screening, cool!

I got a few questions asked on the screening, like "Who was my date?" or "Who am I bringing?", (tell ya, it's an interesting question coz it's hard for me to find a companion for an event, and it's only after manys trials, I would get one) and well for last night, the guest was PamSong. Luckily, she was free, and she had defied and broke the chain.. =P I was lucky also, that she didn't get mad at me, 'cause it seems like I was always giving her last minute notice.. (sorry Pam)

Alright, onto the show, well we all were there an hour before the screenings, and decided to have our dinner at McD's since there's a buka puasa promotion. It's cheaper and there's refillable drinks, so why not?

The movie's okay.. I'll review on that later on.. Howvever we did not watched the movie in 3D, just normal screens only.. Gruesome and gory, that's what FD spells out to the audience.. Pam who was sitting next to me, knows it best~! Don't 'cha, Pam? *grins*

Mr Cow (or known as Moo) was Pam's loyal companion through out the night..

Alright I shall not further elaborate on this matter,
otherwise, I might just be on the obituary section
of tomorrow's newspaper... *gulps*
P.s: She had the killer look saying "I KILL YOU" when
I tried to take Moo away..
