Big Rays Grill

About a week back, I went to Big Rays Grill (BRG) to grab lunch. Well, I bought a discount voucher off Hahah.com.my and I think it was a pretty sweet deal for myself. The food’s pretty decent (quite a big portion), the setup is good (but definitely can improve; I find the echo a tad bit annoying) and the service is great (attentive, punctual and courteous)! Enough talk, I’ll show you what I had…

BRG’s Cowboy Burger & French Fries

The meat’s really juicy! and it ain’t the normal burger patty you find on the roadsides…

P1050238 copy
Mash Potato
(This was complimentary; don’t recall seeing it on menu or reflected in the bill)

This is good stuff! If only I had garlic bread to go with it, it’ll be superb!
Eating it with the burger, a little too complex…
Eating it alone, might be a tad bit too salty…

Well, I certainly do not need to show you how the ice lemon tea looks like,
’cause they all look the same…

I didn’t get to take a picture of their restaurant, but you should check it out yourself, and try doing lunch or dinner there!

Master Toast @ The Scott Garden Mall

Had my dinner at Master Toast in The Scott Garden Mall. At a glance from afar (coming from the front entrance of the mall), anyone would thought it’s just another small café by the corner. Little did I know that was far from wrong…

Notice that? From the direction I came from I thought “Another pitiful café stuck at the corner, how in the world would it attract people?” Yeah, by the time I decided to take a peek inside, I was surprised by the size of it. I took back my words instantly!

So I checked around to see what they have (besides the menu, and the promotions). They were once visited by the World’s #1 badminton player, Lee Chong Wei! They had a cozy corner with lots of fluffy pillow too! Not to forget, they actually had a bladeless stand fan! How cool is that?! Overall, the setup and environment was great!

I was also attracted to their monthly promotion, and decided to order a few (my family was around as well to try out the new café) items off the promotional menu.

We ordered 2 drinks for a start – Asam Kedondong and Choc Oreolicious. For bites, an MT Toast, an MT Club Sandwich and a Foot Long Sausage.

Oh-Em-Gee! They were delicious! The drinks were simply great! We couldn’t get enough of it! It was like the best drinks we had in a long time! Asam Kedondong’s taste was amazing, not unlike some other diluted drinks we tasted in other restaurants. The Choc Oreolicious was thick! and I believe they had grinded the Oreos to mix the chocolate! I’ve yet to try other drinks out, but these two were simply awesome! I’d go for more if I had the stomach for it.

I love the MT Toast – a rich mix of kaya and butter. It had enough taste that beats those of ”[insert name]’ kopitiams! But I believe the MT Club Sandwich is more of a bargain! The ingredients are fresh and Master Toast weren’t stingy! Usually I’d see really thin tomato slices, some half-beaten cabbages, a small cut of chicken ham and cheese, but the Club Sandwich was none of the above! They had sufficient ingredients to make me smile! *grins*

The Foot Long Sausage was a healthy foot long sausage! *laughs* I mean seriously, I went to some café before and ordered a similar dish, but it looked nothing as compared to Master Toast’s! To top that, they had this black pepper gravy that was outstanding! Blended perfectly with the sausage, fries and other stuffs on the plate. Needless to say, it’s darn worth it!

You’d think I’m kidding when I say it’s worth it, eh? Well, see for yourself! The receipt I had gotten for the delicacies above =)

Don’t worry you won’t be missing out much, as there’s next month’s promotional menu (and it’s only a day away!). Well, I didn’t capture the menu in much of a clear manner, but head over there and you’ll find yourself enjoying a good meal =)

Dining @ T-Bowl Sucks!

Just when you think another weekend couldn't or shouldn't get any worse than the previous one, I'd say it's Strike TWO! Bad weekends on a streak =( and this time it's on T-Bowl (aka Toilet Bowl) Concept Restaurant. Heck I think it's a rip-off as well, I've seen its serving a while back, and compared to that, I'd say they'd drop the ball on quality of their food. Thought I'd give it a try at the Sunway's Branch (well everyone deserves a chance right?) so brought family and a friend of my sis there... just to be disappointed...

Before you read the rest, take a short look
at the site and the picture of the food I ordered

Now brace yourself ...

Tasty Crusine (they got it spelled wrongly, it's Cuisine for crying out loud!) Chicken Rice

See what's missing?
Not only that, picture couldn't even tell me it's actually
a Kung-Pou Chicken Rice...
Worse still, doesn't taste like Kung-Pou at all, more of black pepper
(=.=")

Blue Curacao Bubble
I feel kinda cheated, it's like liquid sugar with blue syrup,
heck the icing you see on top, doesn't have any taste...

My opinion, they should have added a lil' sprite at the very least...
At least if you wanna cheat your customers, do it properly...
Otherwise, it's not even worth it...

Mushroom Chicken Chop Rice & Chinese Mambo Pork Rice
It's literally a MUSHROOM (original there were 2 mushrooms
and an extra wonton) and Chicken Chop Rice...
But oh c'mon! if I'm gonna order lemon grass chicken chop...
you mean I'll get lemon and GRASS? sheesssh people...

I mean I do have a sense of humor, but it's not quite there,
especially when a person's hungry...

And you know the saying "when you're hungry everything's good" ?
Well, it's wrong, it's good, if it's truly good...
but this... Arrrggghhh!

Japanese Style Fried Rice (Vegetarian) & Honey Lemon Tea
Don't get me started on this as well...
I don't expect much from this meal, but again,
even so, I should have been given a decent meal right?
*sigh*
The drinks were very PLAIN... so no comment..
(or rather, it's just not worth the additional words)

Donut Delight & Fried Pumpkin
Ice cream came melting its way to our table.
I manage to quickly snap a picture, before it really melts into soup
the Fried Pumpkin? I guess I didn't like it at all..

Complimentary fruit from a dinner set
The setting is just wrong...
But I guess this is alright after all ;)

Long stuffs short, if you'd asked me,
that would be my first and last time...
But hey, don't take my word for it,
you give them 1-time business, and be the judge of it yourself!
(please don't say I didn't warn ya...)

but of course, if in anyway, should they have improved themselves,
(in which I highly doubt it's possible, especially in a short time)
then you're very lucky!

My Honeymoon Experience Sucks!

I personally had one of THE most disappointment experience eating a dessert. To make things worst, it's the night of Mother's day where my sister decides to take us to eat at My Honeymoon! Don't know what I'm talking about? You gotta follow through on the story.

I got to know the place through a friend. Searched the net and found the Honeymoon site, and it looks amazing, they had lots of varieties, having my saliva dripping all over the keyboard just by looking at it!

So, Sis and I decided to head over (Kuchai Lama's branch),
and guess what we got there...
*shows angry fist!*

we specifically told the waiter to separate all the toppings and sauce from the main dish, and this is what they gave us (=.="). Unsatisfactorily, the kitchen gave us a lump of shit with different colors.

My mum had the chocolate set. The chocolate melted so badly, and for a moment I thought they had a war going on back there, that it turned out to be this way! *sigh*

I believe the war lasted a while, because the strawberry set that came in later, was alright *relieved*

Not only that, you see this mango above? In the earlier picture, if you'd noticed the mango was in a "mess". So we returned it to them and told them to change it because it was "messy". They went in and guess what? *points to the picture above* That's the same mango, but was washed with water before giving it back to us. WTF! Is this the way to do business? I asked for a new set, they CLEANED (with water) in hopes we'd believe it's a new set? You can still see the traces of "mess" there! OMG!

Very annoyed, disappointed and a little embarrassed (that our mum got a treatment she didn't deserve), we just finished it off to quickly get away from the place. FYI, the price for the dishes above aren't cheap either.

If you were me, what would you have done?

Note to Mum & Sis: So sorry to put you through this bad experience...
If only I'd knew better, that Honeymoon SUCKS!
I'd brought you to a better place...

When I'm in Singapore

A few weeks back, I had gotten my first opportunity to work outstation (as in out of the country) and Singapore was a good start (there'll be more, and UK's one of the future destination *smiles*). Well, since I can't snap picture of work, and neither did I get the chance to roam Singapore freely on my own due to time constraint, what I managed to do is during my free time (after working hours) I got hold of Nathalie and YingZi (more like the other way around actually) for a dinner / supper. So that was the only time I managed to take pictures.

By the way, we had our dinner at Astons
(which requires a lot of waiting!)

Here's a snap of Nath while waiting in-line of the queue,
and also for YingZi to arrive

We finally got seated... look at their happy faces~~
=P

Here's Nath and I,
she's my lifesaver in Singapore, and I'm geographically-retarded

They insisted that I did the Asian-pose...

Alright enough of them or me
(cause that's the only pictures I have on people *ashamed*)

Let's check out the food shall we??

Astons about western style, so here's what we ate:

Chargrill Chicken
w/ Mashed Potato and Tasty Rice
(served at SGD 6.90)

Lemon Lime Chicken
w/ Mashed Potato and Onion Rings
(served at SGD 6.90)

Hickory BBQ Chicken
w/ Baked Potato and French Fries
(served at SGD 6.90)

Awwww... Did I make you hungry?
I'm sorry... Not!! It's lunch time!
What are ya doing looking at this? You should be out eating by now!

hehehe...

Well, FYI, I only found Astons in Singapore..
In fact, I believe they're all over Singapore...

So which one doesn't require waiting?
My best guess is the outlet in Changi Airport...
How would I know? Simple, I ate there before I left back to ye' ol' KL
=D

Happy Mother's Day!

First off, I'd like to wish all you mothers out there a HAPPY MUM's DAY especially to my mum! She's been great throughout the years, supporting and encouraging all the way. She's not just my mum, she's the reason why I'm still around, doing the things I do. She's also my best friends, and when I say that, I mean we talk a lot, we joke a lot and WE ARGUE A LOT. Sometimes it's meaningless argument (all for the sake of arguing) but that's what brought us closer. This year, my family decided to celebrate it at one of the nearby restaurant, Kari Kepala Ikan Puchong (Translate: Puchong's Curry Fish Head) as mum had long yearn to eat curry fish head. She hadn't had that in years (only reason was due to my body condition and sensitivity to spice, and only recently that I'm able to adapt to it, so yeah).

Mmm, look at that~!
Fried sotong/squid on the left,
and a big pot of the famous curry fish head on the right!

We even ordered butter-fried prawns!
Seriously, they are awesome~!

Well, we still needed our daily dosage of greens,
Hong Kong Kai Lan (Translate: Hong Kong's Chinese Brocoli)

You're probaby wondering where's the family picture?
Well, unfortunately the food was so splendid that we forgotten about it..
LOL, like seriously we cleaned out the dishes!
Though it's a little pricey (not my usual spending on a meal),
but it was certainly worth it!

I'd say I'll probably pay the restaurant another visit
for another special occasion *winks*

Desserts @ Honeymoon, Jinjang

About 2 weeks ago, 2 friends (Wai Hong and Chris) and I went down to Jinjang to get something for lunch. After lunch, we decided to get ourselves some desserts too. So suggested by both of them, we went to Honeymoon. Guess what?! Their logo is so funny, that it reminded me of *dirty minded* a penis! Like seriously, I'd never seen anything like this before! Don't believe? Check it out soon! But the desserts there in general were affordable and good, with good presentation and not to forget they had decent taste =)

Did you see it?
No worries I'll show u a close up later on =D

They have this buzzer thing on each table,
to have the waiter/waitress come in as soon as it rings..
I tried, and it works! =D

Simple layout though, but it's comfortable...

Introducing Wai Hong (left) and Chris (right)

[left] Mango Pancake (Yellow)
[right] Durian Pancake (Light Green)
They were awesome! Like I would order another,
if I didn't had the urge to try others

This is the Water Chestnut Summer Special
Well honestly, to me it was just alright.
Didn't feel the summer feel, or
maybe I was too used to Malaysian weather LOL

This is the simpler version of the above,
Egg Strip Chestnut
This is good, maybe 'cause it was simple...

This has quite a long name,
Mung Bean Soup with Boy Bean Curd
(that was what's written in the menu)
Unique taste because of the mix...
Kinda like it, but 1 bowl was enough for me =)

Ahh, one of my favorite desserts was served there...
This was the Six Happiness Sweet Ball
(Flavors: Sesame, Peanut, Custard, Green Tea,
Yam and Chocolate)
Most of them tasted good!
Had enough fillings, and the layering was good =)

We finished everything up,
so that's our answer.

Why was this fella looking weird?

'Cause he saw the Penis licking himself!
LOL it's just a joke =D

There were many of these displayed there...
I find them very nice =D

I want this pig!!

Who's this girl?
She was the one serving us!
She's nice, and chatty...
but she's shy!
I had to take a picture of her, from outside the shop...
Boy was that 'convenient' *grumbles*

Anyways, this is Jeffro,
and the post about Honeymoon is completed...
Am signing off, Have a great day! =D
