Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Screening!

Wootza! I watched the Prince of Persia (PoPTSoT) and it was awesome! Thanks to Nuffnang and Mister Potato (product of Mamee-Double Decker) for the invitation to the screenings!

Great show, great storyline,
awesome special effects & computer graphics...
more on this shortly...

First!

Sorry can't help it!
We were watching the local version, Prince of Per-Chee-Ahh
Hahaha, a typo error =P

The queue for the ticket collecting was long!
And guess what, people were early!
Collection started at 8.30pm, but these people were already there by 8pm!
Can you believe it?
They broken our cultural rules: +1 into our GMT
Awesome movie awaits them, that's why!

The line went past the escalator!
to almost the stall in the mid of the floor O_O

Jacquelyn noticed me with the new camera,
so she quickly got to me and *click* Tadah!

Here's my date for the invitation - Stephy-nie!

Here's the proof of the invitation (in case if you're still doubting me, LOL)
Oh yea, in the hall, Samuel was spamming his flash before the movie started
with his new camera (D90+SB900+Tamron1750, Wootza)!

After movies some of us went for yumcha!

Alright that's that, back to the review eh, shall we?

What Is It About?:

An epic adventure kick started by a rogue prince who is reluctantly joins forces with princes from the mystical lands. Together they fought against the prince's uncle who secretly leads a dark force in hopes of obtaining an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time (which is believe to be the gift fro the gods once a upon a time, a dagger that can reverse time).

Rogue prince not of the royal family, but was brought into the noble family. Later part of the movie, he was suspected of killing his father, the King of Persia and was head hunted by many. That is where the journey to uncover the truth begins~

What's Good?

Other than the special effects, computer graphics, and storyline, I consider it as one of the best computer games adaptation. The characters were very much a like the ones in the game, in terms of appearances (not exact but an acceptable similarity)

What's Bad?

Well practically if you know the game or the show itself, you would know how this would be like. After all, it is an adaptation. Besides that, was the uninspired romance which is completely obvious and unrealistic. There wasn't anything surprising, even the separation of PoP's body when he used the Dagger of Time. Almost everything was anticipated for.

My Ratings:
9/10
for a great action-adventure movie!
A must watch movie! =)
A good movie to test out your HD TVs at home! =P

Astro B.yond Bloggers Night @ Modesto's

Last week, thanks to Nuffnang, Astro, Azaria and Shaz that I was able to attend the night celebrating Astro B.yond's enhancement into our (well actually for those who subscribed for Astro) daily screenings of TV (cartoons, discovery, sports, etc) and international movies (HBO, Star Movies, etc). For those who don't have Astro, it's never too late to subscribe for it. They have good deals and packages now.

High Definition (HD) is one of the latest and major improvements in TV technology today, allowing viewers to witness and experience roughly five times the details of standard definition television broadcast.

And now, Astro B.yond, Malaysia's first High-Definition broadcast, brings you a complete sensory experience – sharper pictures, more vibrant colours, cinematic surround sound, and a wider screen. Combined, it gives you crystal clear details and a viewing experience like never before. (Astro)

Alright, that's about it on Astro B.yond intro...
Now let's move on to the Bloggers Night!!

People (Duh, bloggers, media, etc)...
Food
(Pizza was awesome! Buffet was great!)...
Game (Who is the Murderer?)... Booze (Free flows baby!)...

Experience, See, Hear, Touch and Feel...
(I'll show ya later how it is done *grins*)

Pizza was my favorite for the night!
Dang, it's thin, crusty, cheesy~~
Gosh so orgasmic~!
Gone within minutes... *nods* (not a second later)

I had the top view... The floor was too crowded...

And I never knew how good it felt to look DOWN on people..
Until I was ABOVE them all, like literally...
LOL, no offense people... Just kidding only *grins*
Everyone gathers on the floor as they will be soon
witness something amazing!

Spotted friends around on the floor...
They were thrilled already!

Then, Mr Henry Tan (CEO of Astro) stepped up to the stage...
Letting us on some kick-ass story on how powerful blogging has been,
(WE BLOGGERS RAWK~!)
reminding us that even Astro is changing their game for the people
BRINGING IN THE HD SERVICES!

And we for the first time, witness the HD of Astro B.yond TV commercial...
One of Malaysian's longest TV commercial... to about 2.30 minutes..
OMG, it was mind blasting! i was dumbfounded, like seriously!
Details... Colors... Sound...
if I could, I WANNA GET 1 MYSELF!

The crowd was definitely awed away by the awesome-ness of HD!

After that superb premiere of the commercial,
it was finally time for dinner-is-served-so-EAT-up!
The food was really good! Modesto's a fine choice for dining!

Then there was a game for everyone to play
"Guess who the Murderer is"
How?
Players are grouped in each team of 5 members,
first one to guess who the murderer is heads to the next round.
Clues are hidden around the place... Find them... and make a guess...
Guess it wrong, and you're disqualified.

So here's the dead guy (Huai Bin in act)
But who's the murderer?
I'll leave that a mystery to you...
(Too bad you weren't there eh? =P)

This is the winning team.. KY, ShaolinTiger and gang...
Only one of them gets to take home
a 32" LG HDTV and 1 year free subscription of Astro B.yond!
Wootza! Lucky guy!
Who's the person? I'm sure you're smart enough to find out..
(hint: many other blogs has the answer)
[i like mysteries, do you? *grins*]

Not to forget, there was also a pretty cool live music performance for us!

Then, it's bloggers jumping around!
They're hyped up! =D

And Dustyhawk pretending to be dead...
Good boy, aren't you a good boy?
LOL

Of course when you have a pretty lady going around,
never miss the chance to snap a picture with her...
Give it up for JojoStruys!

Well I know this is the moment you've been waiting for...
I know I know.. Imma AWESOME~
Thank you thank you...
Seriously, thank you... *grins*

Suresh, Hitomi and Dusty...
Portraying a crime scene...
if only there was blood...

*feels awkwardness*
What? I'm just saying...
sheeessshh, can't you people take a joke?

And the peeps partying~!
Dancing and laughing around...

Hmmm.. I wasn't sure what this was all about...
Probably Huai Bin was making his moves...
To the left, to the left? (from my point of view)

This is you'll be seeing a lot, when you have too much of booze!
hahaha, kidding... I'm not drunk...
OooOoooo, I see light!

Here's a picture of me and Azaria!
is it me, or she looks drunk?
Hahaha.. Kidding Azaria... don't be mad at me k? =D

Last but not least, people signing on the welcome board...
This is not even half of the list yet...

So that's me, yours truly, Jeffro signing off...
See ya real soon!
Have a great time!

Sherlock Holme's Premiere Screening

Gonna do a quick one on this. Got the invitation to the screening thanks to Alex and Nuffnang. So what's my take on it?

kinda lazy to get the official pictures,
I'll let ya see the trailer instead
"if picture tells a thousand words,
a movie tells a million pictures"

What's it about?

This movie is actually adoption of a fictional character, Sherlock Holmes who's a detective on the go of solving cases, except that this Sherlock Holmes was no ordinary detective. This movie portrays a genius-being of a detective eager and yearning to solve mystery (as no mystery cannot be unsolved). However Sherlock Holmes as impressive as he sounds, is lethal with his fighting skills combined with his legendary intellect. Together Holmes and Watson (his trusty stalwart partner, also an impressive doctor) fight against a new nemesis and a deadly plot to bring down the country.

The Good?

Awesome storyline, with good mixture of action and comedy.
Love the plot of the story, how it builds up to the climax.
The logic makes you think a lot.
Gets everyone's attention with the movie and dialogue style.
Love the humor. If you think it's partially funny, you're wrong, it's hilarious throughout the whole show!

The Bad?

You really need good sound system to hear them clearly, cause they speak too fast (or we can't catch up with their speech speed)
If you're slow, you'll need to go through the movie again to catch the meaning.
You need to understand their slang to catch some of their words (or you can rely on the subtitles)

Ratings?

9/10

Why 9, even if it's so good?
Cause I didn't get to see the real nemesis..
Leaving me wondering who it is...

A recommended movie to watch!
*thumbs up*

YES! 2009 @ PICC

Thanks to Nuffnang and ChrisTock, I was given the opportunity to attend the Youth Engagement Summit (YES!) 2009 sometime last week, which was the Monday of November 17th. I must say it's a pretty good experience for me. Somewhat it re-affirmed what I had believed, and open my mind to some other perspectives.

The main entrance of YES 2009
We were there since 9am

These are the speakers for the two days, but due to me only attending
the second day, I only met 3/4 of them...

That's my pass!

There were many inspiring speakers that day...
But here's some of them

First speaker was Gary Kasperov.

A very interesting talk by him as Gary focuses on aggression and initiation.
"We must be aggressive in making decision... We need to take initiative in doing something, before being asked to do it"
According to Gary, in the business world, it is better to provide people
with what they need before they ask for what they want.

Also, Gary emphasizes that courage and will power will lead one to
building a new world. One should always be objective of his/her strength and weaknesses - be creative based on own strength and opponent(s)'s advantages. Use everything to your advantage.

Then, guess who "shows" up from New York city?
Yes people, it's Donald Trumph himself live on web cam!

Donald Trumph has his own ways and definition of success and aggression.
For him, success never changes. Anyone can be successful if:
1. Love what you're doing 2. Know the subject well 3. Do the task right

He also states, "If somebody screws you, screw them back!"
His method(s) may be a little too aggressive, but it works for him,
and for many other successful businessmen at his level.

Donald strongly says that Focus, Confidence and Discipline are important
factors that leads people to their dreams. One must be able to handle the
pressure of being successful, and believe in him/herself that he/she can
tackle that goal.

Someone asked, "Mr Trumph, will Donald Trumph hire Donald Trumph?"
He answered, "Probably not, 'cause I'm afraid Donald Trumph will take
over my business *laughs*"

Up next, we have Randi Zuckerberg from Facebook!
Yes, this cheerful looking lady is one of the 'big guys' in Facebook...

She mainly focuses on how Facebook has expanded their network,
and in her explanation, there were quite a few tips on how to get
around in the business world...
Guess we all gotta "read between the lines" eh?

So according to her, if you want to make an impact, you have to be
creative - always thinking of new ways to present things, and solve problems
Never stop and be satisfied with what you have, instead make and effort
to tell yourself, there's more to explore, there's more to learn, and certainly
there's more to provide.

Randi is as interesting as she talks... and to prove that,
a question came from the floor...
"Randi, are you single?"
She laughs, and told the guy gently that she was already married...

In between the talks, there were tit bits and there was also lunch
held in a big hall... and oh if you're wondering who's the young lady there,
that's Zoeyve wearing a YES! 2009 cap

During the break times, many who were there (mostly foreigners)
took the chance to take a group picture.
It's a good day for a picha! *snap*

And this is one of the reasons why...
There's a good background!

And so we continued with the talks which lasted till about 6pm...
It was definitely tiring, but worth it!

Here's the bunch, minus off ChrisTock and YapThomas (aka Thomas Trumph
aka M'sian Donald Trumph, who's doing business everywhere, and suddenly
disappears to somewhere, and re-appears out of no where)

At the end of the talks, the audience stood up giving a round applause
with standing ovation cheering on how great the YES! 2009 is...
Moments later, when the music plays, everyone rushes down!

Zoeyve pointing out to the crowd down there!

With strong beats coming from the drummer,
making their theme song livelier than it expected...

The crowds goes wild cheering for YES! 2009....
It's been a successful event, and hope to see everyone again in the next one!

Well folks that's all from YES! 2009

And so this is Jeffro say Good Day, over and out!
